At our medical facility we strive to give each and every patient the time, attention, and expertise they deserve. Our male patients are no exception. With the addition of Dr. Justin Janss and Dr. Stephen Hoelscher, we now have male providers who are able to provide psychiatric and mental health care, as well as internal medicine and weight loss therapy. As we shine a spotlight on men’s health issues this week, let’s take a deeper look into one of our male patient’s experiences at IFM. Hello to all the men out there! I’d like to spend some time discussing an important topic with you and your spouses today. A common request I get in my practice from men involves checking for low testosterone. The majority of the time, men ask to check this as they symptoms of fatigue or low energy, depressed mood, weight gain, feeling weaker than usual, or performance issues sexually. First, I just want to say there is no “right” way to parent. This is not a blog about how to parent or what I think you should do for your child. That said, research shows that how you parent can directly affect the way your child’s brain develops. Vacation is a much needed reprieve from the strains of normal life. A time to laugh, spend time with the people we love, give ourselves a chance to relax, and just have fun. Vacations can be “just what the doctor ordered”. Laughing lowers blood pressure. Sunshine boosts serotonin levels. If you vacation right, you can accomplish all of this and avoid post vacation guilt from spending too much money! Besides, who wants to spend the rest of the year paying off that one week of fun!? |
