P R O V I D E R
Justin came back to Des Moines just in time. A registered psychiatric nurse with a doctorate in mental health nursing, Justin practiced in Austin for a few years before coming home to Iowa and has a special interest in mindfulness and natural healing, which makes him perfectly suited for IMF’s approach to healthcare. His practice is characterized by his willingness to dig in. He takes a trauma-informed approach, meaning that he is comfortable working through deep trauma. “Spirituality,” he says, “is also a very important aspect of my care, which is one of the areas that traditional psychiatry neglects.”

Professional Approach to the Holistic and Integrative care model: My approach is deeply holistic, integrative and evidence-based. I believe all healing ultimately comes from within, and it is my duty to help individuals uncover the things that are blocking them from the health and happiness they deserve. There are many avenues to healing, and I will do all I can to explore any and all routes that may lead you to health. Traditional psychiatry and its treatment of symptoms rather than root causes of dis-ease has its obvious benefits and limitations. My aim is to move beyond the limitations of traditional psychiatry by incorporating integrative treatments shown to improve mental health outcomes and heal the root causes of disease. It is my hope that we become a team built on the foundation of a meaningful relationship with the sole mission to bring you closer to the best version of yourself possible. Treatments are aimed toward lifestyle, body, mind and soul. We will have the opportunity to dive into relationships, sleep, habits, nutrition, exercise, the gut-brain axis, brain optimization, immune modulation, trauma, beliefs and spirituality. Because of our comprehensive approach, our initial intakes will be split into 2 parts (1- 90-minute session and 1–60-minute session, typically 1 week apart). Follow up sessions can range from 20 to 50 minutes, depending on client preference. We ask that you please arrive early for appointments with all the necessary paperwork/online forms filled out. |
