Sara Lynn liked to listen to the stories her great grandmother told about her 50-year career in nursing, and she realized early on that she wanted to do that, too. “If I went into nursing”, she thought,”I would have an interesting life, great stories, and a legacy.” So far, it’s been all of that and more. After spending 10 years as an ICU nurse, she realized that medicine needed to do more than rescue people from the brink of death. It needed to keep them healthy in the first place. That’s when Sara Lynn found IFM, where their values align with her own. Although she still performs nursing tasks, IFM’s aim is different, that is, to make sure patients are treated like people. “We outline risks and benefits and patients make their own decisions and we see such amazing healing. We become a real lifeline for therapies they didn’t even know existed.”
