Daly Hardy
Counselor
Daly Hardy received a Masters degree from Buena Vista University in Mental Health Counseling and a second specialization in Professional School Counseling graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Previously she had achieved her baccalaureate in three years from Drake University in Psychology and Business Studies. Her ambition and drive for excellence balanced with a person-centered touch and commitment to service have been at the forefront of the ample leadership positions within community outreach programs, business teams, schools and charities.
During the pandemic Daly steered her attention to her true passion, which is to help clients access mental health and wellbeing now. She has taken extra coursework to become a Three Princple Based Practitioner and experienced life-changing shifts alongside seeing the potential for that in others. Through this work Daly has the desire to help others illuminate their resilience and to move the needle toward ending pervasive and needless suffering caused by a misunderstanding of the mind. Furthermore, she has always been interested in how a deeper understanding of how humanity can enable positive change or elicit more mental freedom and allow new ways of thinking, behaving, and pattern breaking. She has many years of experience in facilitating change by designing, developing and providing programmes to individuals and organizations that breed insights and flip burn out to the experience of joy-propelled action and feed a greater sense of reconciliation with health. Daly is the founder of By Design Counseling & Wellness, a practice with a holistic, integrative, and evidence-based approach to mental health care that ultimately targets the root causes of mental dis-ease and disorder and promotes sustainable change in her client's lives. Her clients vary widely from leaders, professional athletes, engineers, teenagers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and many more. Her ideal client is someone who has at least a mustard seed of hope that there must be an easier and more enjoyable way to live intermust the stress of the world around. Perhaps a person who is needing a solution that makes sense of their years of personal development seeking or a person that has been in a traditional therapeutic treatment environment for years without substantial and tangible healing or relief. Daly's approach is innate health promoting, creates high level feelings in counseling, opens new and fresh thinking to once old and stale problems, and is based on the premise that no one is broken or lacking. |
More About Daly
Specialty: Mental Health
Conditions I treat:
-All mental health conditions
-Individuals, parent/child, groups, and classes
I am excited to provide support and guidance on your journey to promote optimum mental and emotional health.
Many people experience stress, anxiety, fear, disappointment, impatience, frustration, difficulty coming to terms with trauma or sadness — and just resign themselves to distressing feelings. We learn to think that life is hard, and circumstances create our low moods and bad feelings. We lose hope for peace of mind, joy, clarity, a consistent sense of well-being. We push on, doing the best we can, and risk harm to our physical and spiritual health because we don't know there is a choice. Once we see it, and understand our psychological functioning and mind-body links, we are set free from the pressure of our negative thoughts and feelings, free to live and work at ease.
Professional Approach to the Integrative Medical Model:
You might wonder how the integrative services I offer differ from solely traditional counseling services to which you may be accustomed.
The immediate and obvious differences are:
Billing/Insurance:
Daly will accept cash pay patients at this time. Rates are $149 for a 50 minute therapy session.
Upon completion of your visit, you may submit your receipt to your insurance to see if they will reimburse you for any of your cost for these services, however Integrative Family Medicine of Iowa is not submitting insurance claims for this provider at this time.
You may utilize an HSA, FSA, or HRA to pay for these services, as well as pay by cash, check, or credit card in office.

You might wonder how the integrative services I offer differ from solely traditional counseling services to which you may be accustomed.
The immediate and obvious differences are:
- The importance of physical health, which can have a significant impact on mental health, and address any underlying medical issues or chronic illnesses that might be contributing to mental health symptoms is taken into account as we have a team working together on every case.
- My work is to facilitate healing the root cause by making it easy for people to quiet their minds and experience their own insights and get in touch with their own innate health and resiliency. Instead of providing coping strategies that are difficult to remember and employ in the moments of need and typically a bandiad on top of the root misunderstanding.
- When people have complete treatment, they walk away remembering what THEY saw for themselves, not what I said or did. The service is not meant to bring attention to me, but to draw out life-changing wisdom in the clients.
- Nothing is prescriptive in my office, every interaction is created out of rapport in the moment, responsive to the client's feeling state and level of understanding; the experience always feels fresh. There are no "canned" materials or workbooks.
