There are several absolute contraindications for the FemiLift procedure that should be taken into consideration. These include having a vaginal mesh or vaginal sling in place, as the laser treatment may interfere with these devices. Additionally, if a patient has an active bacterial or viral infection, it is not recommended to undergo the procedure, as it may worsen the infection or hinder the healing process. Active bleeding, such as during menstruation, is also a contraindication, as it may increase the risk of complications. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are also contraindications, as the effects of the laser treatment on the fetus or breast milk are not yet fully understood. Lastly, moderate to severe pelvic organ prolapse may also be a contraindication, as the procedure may not be effective in treating this condition.

The FemiLift laser can effectively treat a range of conditions, including vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, chronic urinary infections, painful sexual intercourse, and post-menopausal symptoms. By targeting these conditions, the FemiLift procedure can provide numerous benefits. What to expect
The typical treatment program for FemiLift consists of three sessions, each spaced about four weeks apart. Your first consultation will be about 30 minutes and will include your first treatment. After your initial consultation, we will schedule your second and third treatments and those will be about 15 minutes in length. The exact number of treatments may vary depending on individual needs and goals. During your consultation, our medical provider will assess your specific situation and recommend the appropriate treatment plan.
Prior to your consultation and 1st treatment: To prepare for the FemiLift treatment, it is generally recommended to avoid sexual intercourse, tampons, and vaginal creams for a few days before the procedure. It's also important to stay hydrated and maintain good overall vaginal hygiene. You should not have the FemiLift procedure if you have vaginal mesh, are pregnant or currently breastfeeding, or have an active bacterial or viral vaginal infection. Patients with a history of herpes simplex virus should start a prophylactic antiviral treatment for 2 days prior to the procedure and continue treatment for 5 days after the procedure. Women with extreme vaginal dryness should start a course of topical estradiol cream in the vaginal canal for 30 days prior to the procedure to avoid discomfort. |
Your consultation and treatments will be completed with one of our founders, Sarah or Kara.

However, depending on the individual and the extent of the procedure, the provider may choose to inject a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort throughout the process. Rest assured, your provider will discuss all the necessary details with you during your consultation to ensure you are well-prepared and informed before the day of your procedure. |
After your FemiLift procedure.
