June is Migraine Awareness Month and here at Integrative Family Medicine, our clinic is no stranger to patients with migraines. Migraines are a recurrent headache disorder that can be debilitating for many people. There are many different migraine treatment options, including relief medication, daily preventative migraine medications, IV therapy treatments for migraines, and supplements to help migraine sufferers reduce their pain and symptoms associated with an attack. Simply put: migraine sufferers will try nearly any and all options to find relief when it comes to a migraine attack.
Ever been herded through a medical experience like cattle at a sale barn? You know what it feels like. Your individuality and dignity left at the door. The aroma of disinfectant choking your lungs and the tissue paper covering the exam table making you feel more like a fast-food burger than a human? Well, we’ve felt that way, too, and that’s why Integrative Family Medicine strives to deliver individualized care to each and every patient. We call it, “The experience we all want, but rarely get.”
Medicine, like so many other practices and phenomena in today’s world has gotten complex, offering more choices and many alternatives. This is a good thing for many of us who have felt either disregarded or sidelined by conventional medical practices. That’s why we started Integrative Family Medicine.
