Coming Home with PurposeOur time has come to an end and we are wrapping up our week at the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Annual International Conference in sunny Florida. We jumped at the opportunity to attend this in person, the first time in 4 years (thanks covid). Our time together was memorable and brought us into alignment of where we see our practice growing and how we will continue to bring integrative medical approaches to the Des Moines medical community. So here’s the short list of what we are coming home with after this week... A renewed sense of purpose. We have had the ultimate trip that included massive amounts of new knowledge, lots of moments of group therapy between the three of us, and plenty of sun and fun. We are leaving behind the old ways that no longer serve us as women, providers, or as a practice and coming home full of ideas, creativity, and strong alignment to our path forward. A commitment to bring more integrative treatments to our community. When it comes to our neurodivergent crowd, we know we have so much to offer here. This includes neurodiagnostic testing that helps us better identify each individual’s problem area in the brain and how to best treat it for YOU. Not according to a textbook. A sunburn. This will forever be Kara’s problem any time she takes a sunny vacation. A coffee cup that holds an entire bottle of wine. Don’t ask us how we know. New Supplements We discovered and learned about some rad supplements to add to our preferred selection, all meant to improve your outcome with less unnecessary things included. This includes the ability for us to custom blend your vitamin regimen based on the functional testing we do. Now, we can custom order and blend your specific vitamin needs in a capsule or a powder. So, yep. Gonna work for kids too. (Anyone else excited not to feed a capsule to your kid like a cat??) We look forward to our continued work in our community and are so full of gratitude to our patients who believe in the work we are doing. We see you. We hear you. We continue this work on your behalf.

Thank you and that is great news I will be looking forward to some functional testing down the road. I lived in FL for almost six years and was in the panhandle and little different from the rest of the state. Glad you had time to enjoy the beach and Florida beaches are beautiful and lots of sunshine. Be well and thank for the update.
