When should my baby have their first checkup? It is recommended that babies be seen for a quick check within their first week of life to make sure they are eating well, not losing too much weight, and that the family is transitioning well with the new little one. At IFM, we offer house calls if it is difficult to make that first trip into the office. We have providers that are very experienced with new-baby issues and can guide you through all of the questions you may have! Feed them, change them, love them…..seems simple enough, but we are here for you if any problems arise.
Why is it important for my child to get regular checkups? Children grow and develop so quickly, it is recommended that they come in for regular checkups with their provider to make sure they are meeting their developmental milestones. Children that get early intervention such as speech or physical therapy when it is discovered that they are not meeting their milestones tend to catch up quicker! We can refer your child to any specialist to help them progress in their development. We offer a non judgemental space where your decision and choices to your child’s health is respected. What are normal sleeping patterns for my baby? Sleep is a big issue for everyone...from babies to adults! When babies are sleeping, their brains are developing at warp speed. Changes in sleep patterns are difficult to manage and cope with. Here at IFM we can guide you through your child’s sleep problems and help you both get the best sleep! These are just a few of the questions you may be asking. We are for you. Booking an appointment is easy to do online. We look forward to getting to know you and your child and answering any other questions you may have.
